Overview

For 29 years the Detroit Executive Service Corps (DESC) has prided itself on its ability to take a leadership role in making a positive impact in our community. DESC was founded in 1982 through a joint venture between the General Motors Corporation and United Way.

Since our inception DESC's volunteer consultants have worked on thousands of projects with organizations from the nonprofit, K-12 educational and governmental communities throughout the southeast Michigan region. Successful, experienced retired and working executives and professionals volunteer their time to provide all services offered by DESC.

The heart and soul of DESC's operations are its volunteer consultants. Without the dedication of its volunteers, DESC would not be able to serve the thousands of nonprofit organizations in the southeast Michigan region nor impact over 1,000,000 citizens these organizations serve.
